Audrey Steenbeek

Audrey Steenbeek

Audrey Steenbeek is a professor at Dalhousie university school of nursing with a cross appointment with the department of community health and epidemiology. Dr. Steenbeek is a nurse epidemiologist that specializes in reducing the spread of sexually transmitted infections in remote Indigenous communities through the use of community-based research. Additionally, she works on improving vaccine uptake in northern communities, developing culturally competent HIV education, addictions and mental illness. Dr. Steenbeek continues to have an active nursing practice in both the emergency department and in Nunavut.
