Denise Lambert

Denise Lambert

Denise Lambert shares her life with her 5 children – Chelsea, Sierra, Jolene, Naomi, Nathan and 2 grandsons – Noah and Grayson. She lives near Kikawiskan Sakahikan. Of Cree, Stoney and French descent, Denise challenges legislated identity boundaries, focusing on unity of Indigenous Peoples. Denise started AIDS/HIV awareness within correctional facilities in Alberta in 1987. As a cofounderof several AIDS service organizations, advisory committees and working groups Denise hasdeveloped a comprehensive skill set to addressing Indigenous health issues from policy and practices levels. Currently, Denise is a PhD student in Indigenous Studies at the University of Alberta.
