Lane Bonertz
Growing up in Southern Alberta, Lane is guided by the values instilled by a rural upbringing in ranching and agriculture. His approach to community work is one of constant collaboration, recognizing the powerful ideas that can emerge from different perspectives and mutual support. He is Blackfoot and a member of Piikani Nation, hoping to contribute to sexual health care and research that honours Indigenous ways of knowing and is affirming of identity, desire, and lived experience. He received his bachelor’s degree in Sexuality Studies from York University, and is grateful for the encouragement and support of his Nation in the pursuit of his studies. Lane is the Two-Spirit Program Lead at the Community Based Research Centre.
