Implementation Science

We seek to develop a comprehensive understanding of implementation science from an Indigenous perspective to learn how research and scholarship can effectively impact Indigenous communities by creating meaningful change. As the FEAST Centre prepares to support Indigenous-led research projects targeted toward understanding and improving health outcomes of Indigenous peoples living with STBBI, the understanding of implementation science from an Indigenous lens is fundamental to the application of these research findings to increase determinants of health for Indigenous people living with or affected by STBBI. Additionally, the establishment of an Indigenous approach to implementation science seeks to re-examine the intrinsic value of research – to recognize that the value of research extends beyond the various measures of the academic institution and requirements stipulated by funders.
